Work or rest?

Hi all. I'm currently at university in my third yr in Sept and just started the summer vacation. I have been offered the opportunity to work for an organisation that I worked with last summer but the idea of this vacation was to rest. My dad died recently and I haven't really had a chance to deal with it all because I had to get marks for uni. He left me some money but I have some credit cards and overdraft that is in the red. I wanted to use what was given for something useful rather then paying off my debts with it. So earning money is the solution but now that the proposition has been presented to me and I am not just not looking for work I feel like crawling back under the covers. So my question is should I use the money to pay off my debt and live sensibly and free of duty for the rest of the summer abd sort myself out as I planned to or go to work? I know this is something I should ask myself but for the life of me I am so confused. Some advice would really help. Many thanks x
