My ipod nano third generation got dropped in chocolate milk, please help!?

my ipod nano was in the cup holder of my car when some chocolate milk in spilled into it, i'm not sure how long it was submerged but when i noticed i panicked and tried to turn it on. It didn't turn on but the screen flashed grey for a second then went dark. Now it is randomly making beeping noises out of the ipod itself not the headphones. Is it bad that i turned it on? What do i do now? Please help!!!!
