What was the first song you remember thinking "Wow!" to and at what age were you?

I remember hearing Jean Genie by David Bowie back in '72 and really liking it. It was on "Top of the Pops" and I was 9 yrs old at the time. I remember my dad saying "he's a poofter and the song is rubbish". I didn't care as I thought he (Bowie) looked great in the "video" and the song was fantastic. Jean Genie was the record that made me notice music for the first time and was the start of my appreciation of rock.
